Mrs. Christine Jordis, author of the book "Bali, Java, en rêvant" will be in Jakarta from the 10th until the 12th of December 2008. Mrs. Jordis is a writer (about 20 books published) who specializes in translation dan French and English litterature. She speaks English fluently. She works for litterature magazines " Monde des Livres " and " Page des libraires ". Christine Jordis has written numerous essays at Seuil (Des petits enfers variés, Le paysage et l’amour, Gens de la Tamise), at Stock (Jean Rhys, La prisonnière), at Rocher (Bali, Java en rêvant). She is very fond of Asia and has travelled many times, published Bali, Java, en rêvant and Promenades en terre bouddhiste de Birmanie. She has also written the story of Gandhi (Gandhi, Gallimard, 2006). Themes proposed : she could talk about her book dan about her relationship with Indoensia, what Indonesia represents for her, who is French, or she could talk about translation, a field she has mastered or about publishers in France or about French litterature (she is President of the jury for the Fémina prize), about the Femina prize... |
